Marseille defeated Auxerre by 2-1, who managed to score two goals in just three minutes. In Ligue 1 on Sunday, Olympique de Marseille overcame a goal deficit to beat AJ Auxerre 2-1 and strengthen their grip on second place. Two goals in three minutes from Cengiz Under in the 74th minute and Alexis Sanchez in the 76th minute cancelled out Auxerre’s first-half lead.

With 70 points, Marseille now has a four-point advantage over Lens, who have a game in hand. The two sides will meet next week, while Paris St Germain holds the top spot with 75 points.

Auxerre started strongly, and Sead Kolasinac came close to giving them the lead in the 11th minute with a glancing header that narrowly missed the target. Vitinha, who had six shots on goal by the 22nd minute, also had a couple of near misses as Marseille pinned Auxerre in their own half.

However, against the run of play, Auxerre stunned the home crowd by scoring in the 32nd minute with a thunderous volley from Birama Toure. Marseille left it late, with Under firing a shot into the top corner after missing several other chances, and Sanchez completing the comeback with a strike from a tight angle.
